What to consider when buying an electric bike – Long Range EBikes

In this blog, we’re going to look at longer range eBikes for people who want to go that extra (few)miles. With higher price tags than the rest of the eBikes on the market, their performance outstrips cheaper models with much longer ranges.

EBCO UCL-90 Women’s Electric Hybrid Bike

Built from T6 aluminium, an alloy mixed with manganese for strength, this bike is equipped with Suntour NCX D-LO suspension forks for a smooth ride. It is fitted with a seven-speed Shimano Alfine internal hub gear system. The Bosch 36V battery charges in 2.5 to 3.5 hours and has a range of 70 miles. The powertrain is a Bosch Active Drive Centre Motor and it utilises a Bosch Intuvia display. The bike uses Shimano M355 disc brakes and weighs 24kg in total, including the battery.

 

Corratec E-Power Performance 10S 500 Women’s Hybrid Ebike

With a city commute as well as country leisure rides in mind, this performance bike has a range of up to 95 miles. It has a triple butted aluminium frame with a dual top/down design to deliver a smooth ride. Powered by a Bosch Performance Line Centre Drive unit paired with a Bosch battery it takes between 3.5-4.5 hours to charge. It is fitted with Corratec 189D AMS front suspension forks for making light work of bumps. The fitted gear system consists of Shimano Deore XT components. The brakes are Tektro hydraulic discs and its 700C wheels are fitted with Continental E Contact II tyres.

 

Corratec E-Power Active 10 Wave 500 Hybrid Bike

This low step framed bike features 700C wheels with Continental E Contact II tyres and has a fusion down tube that stiffens the frame for low impact cycling. The drive system is powered by a Bosch 500wh battery and a Bosch Active Centre Drive motor and has a range of up to 95 miles. The battery takes 3.5-4.5 hours to fully charge. The Bosch Intuvia Active display shows four different levels of assistance and ride information, including speed and battery level. The gear system is an eight-speed Shimano Deore XT system and it is fitted with Tektro hydraulic disc brakes.

 

Haibike Xduro Cross 4.0

 

The Haibike Xduro is designed as a sports bike and features a hydroformed aluminium 6061 frame with an SR Suntour NCX suspension fork. It is powered by a Bosch 36V battery that delivers between 30 and 140 miles from a single charge, depending on the terrain. The drive motor is a Bosch Powerpack CX 500Wh unit that is designed for sports performance and is integrated into the frame using Haibike’s Stepin battery integration system and takes around 4.5 hours to charge. The eleven-speed Shimano SLX gear system offers easy hill climbs while the Mangura MT4 disc brakes offer smooth braking. It’s massive wide-rimmed 27.5” wheels fitted with Schwalbe Super Moto X tyres make light work of covering large distances.
